Black Belt Grading September 2009

Roy and Stephanie

Two Dragons were tested on their expertise at the Black Belt Grading held in Cheltenham on September 20th & 21st. Instructors Karen Sutton and Callum Thompson were present, along with senior Instructor 5th Dan Pete Cook, who had just the previous day arrived from Australia to accompany the gang.

Stephanie West graded for her 1st Dan in Freestyle Kickboxing, while Roy Elsom was grading for his 3rd Dan in Tae Kwon-do. Both had a very good grading, showing solid techniques and superb stamina along with very good fighting skills. The result was a very good pass rate for both Dragons. Senior Freestyle Tae Kwon-do instructor Karen Sutton was also awarded her 4th Dan after 4 years of loyalty with the UFBDA and WUMA.

Dragons chairman and senior instructor Pete Cook would like to congratulate Callum Thompson and Karen Sutton for their hard work in preparing these two students for their grading. The standard was as usual high and both students should be proud of themselves. Pete - now residing in Australia and currently building UFBDA down under - was impressed with the standard that has been kept since he left back in March.

WELL DONE STEPH 1ST DAN, ROY 3RD DAN AND KAREN 4TH DAN!
