AMAC ROUND 3, SHAILER PARK
17th July 2011

Team Dragon again in action this weekend - this time in Shailer Park QLD.

Phoebe Coleman won her way to the semi finals in the low kick continuous, losing but then went on to win in for the 3rd place. Also she had a go at the Point section going on to achieve a creditable 4th place medal.

Nathan Coleman lost out in the 1st round of the points but went on to gain a 2nd place in the low kick continuous.

Elliott Dunster had a bad day, losing out in both his sections.

Leila Bloomfield was on form with what we thought was a very dodgy decision in the final of the points. With the decision going against her at the end of the round, it was a draw with the 1st to score wins she was pipped to take a 2nd place. The low kick continuous was a different matter and Leila ensured a win in the final by dominating from the word go.

Coach Pete Cook again won 2nd in the Kata section and decided to leave the points out. Went into the low kick continuous meeting a very able Tae Kwon–do opponent in the final. The 2 min round was to and fro but Pete showed cleaner techniques and for the 4th time this year won his section.

All in all, it ws a good day, well run and with some very good competitors. The different style rules had most of the team trying to adapt, but it was a good learning curve, an lessons will be learnt so that our next visit to AMAC will be more comfortable.
