ISKA round 3 held in Burpengary, on the sunshine coast Queensland - another good day for Team Dragon starting with first timer White belt Harry Hardwick having a go in the 10 yrs novice/intermediate point stop section. Harry did all that was asked and when the nerves had settled he started using good techniques but went on to lose in the semi finals. Being called up for 3rd place fight against a blue belt Harry took it to his opponent and went on to take the win and ensure him with a 3rd place.

Leila Bloomfield and Phoebe Coleman went next. We decided to put Leila up into the 13/14 yrs Advanced Point stop section. Leila did great and was the first of the two Dragons to reach the Final. Phoebe then went on to make it a true Dragon finale, with Leila and Phoebe against each other. Leila's kicking ability made all the difference, and won her the 1st place.

Elliott Dunster came next in the 15yrs intermediate Point stop section reaching the finale and after avery close finale lost by 1 point ending up with a well deserved 2nd

Nathan Coleman was in the 16/17 yrs open weight Advanced point stop section. Nathan who had won through to the final took on the mat a huge disadvantage with his opponent having a large weight and height advantage, and went up on the points. A very solid kick to the kidney area took Nathan down and after medical advise he was taken out of the comp leaving him with a 2nd place.

Coach Pete Cook was again on form with a 2nd in the Kata he then went into the Advanced Black belt open weight 18yrs and over section and for the 3rd time this year won all his fights and receiving a 1st.

Leila was called up for the Intermediate continuous section again doing the job well and winning her section.

Phoebe also was on form in her section. In the final the 2 minutes had been called and it was still a draw, so 1 minute extra was called. Phoebe went out making sure that the decision could only go one way  - a win for her.

Elliott last up for the Dragons in the continuous section again winning through to the finale after a real hard fight Elliott again took 2nd place.

All in all, a good day with no concerns in the team's progression.
