Weapons Course with Mark Dore   6th August 2011

By invitation, Mark Dore presented a weapons course for UFBDA on Saturday 6th August. The afternoon session was well attended by a group of Dragons students and Instructors, keen to learn something new and try them out. All agreed it was a great success.

Mark demonstrated different techniques using the kubotan as a defensive weapon. The intention was to cover two weapons (kubotan and wooden baton), but it turned out that three hours was just too short a time for anything more than an introduction. Still, this was a great start, and much appreciated. Here are a few selected pics from the day.

The filtrum (that space between the nose and top lip) is very sensitive - as Mark demonstrates
In the right hands, even a ballpoint pen can be an effective defensive weapon

A demonstration enjoyed by all but one. Guess who.

Useful, informative and FUN!

This first session went down so well that Mark has been invited back for a return visit, which is eagerly anticipated.
Big thanks to Mark for an enjoyable and informative afternoon!
