Lincoln KBA's NOWHERE TO HIDE! Kickboxing Show
Yarborough Leisure Centre, Saturday 24th March 2012

Yarborough Leisure Centre was the setting for Lincoln Kickboxing Association's 'Nowhere To Hide!' show on Saturday night. In eager anticipation of the packed fight card, an enthusiastic crowd were in full voice to cheer on the local boys, and for those who couldn't make it to the venue, a video feed was streamed 'live' online, with an informed commentary by Dean Sugden.

The main event was an ISKA title fight, with Dragon Callum Thompson aiming high. Also on the card, flying the flag for UFBDA was Matty Parker, taking the opportunity to fight in his first show. Fight photos by Patrick Hodson (thank you!)

Matthew in action

Of the Dragons Duo, Matthew Parker was up first, and though he battled well against Lincoln KBA's Andy Barnaby, he was unfortunately not fated to be the winner on his first outing.

His comment: "a massive thank you to my coach 'fug' for all he's giving me in the past few months. Thank you for all the support from every body who came to the show, I didn't get the win I wanted but feel happy with myself for having a war with a great man/opponent. Crackin' show again, credit to Shawn and all the KBA team."

The Main Event

After some great clashes, the Main Event arrived, Callum Thompson vs Felling Warriors' Guy Johnson. Over a five-round contest, Callum appeared very much in control right from the opening minutes, working his way steadily through to the finish, thrilling the crowd. Weeks of intensive training paid off, as he won every round. The judges' decision surprised no-one, and the result - another belt and another title: ISKA British Super Middleweight Champion.

A fabulous performance, and a well-earned victory!

Callum interviewed after the fight

"I enjoyed that - he was a really tough opponent!"

Cal's comments:

"Thank you everyone who came to support me. A big big thanks to my team - Shawn Burton, Aaron Robinson, big Nige and Matty Parker. Would of never been ready without you lads! So thanks!"
