ISKA Round Five : 30th September 2012

This Sunday, Team Dragon were competing in the Queensland round 5 State Championships. This tournament was for the individual competitors to win a state title, as well as those competing all year to become the overall state champion in their group. Nine fighters did Team Dragon proud.

Coach Pete Cook won a 3rd in the open weight black belt section he also for the 2nd year has won the state championships for his group.
Jake Carlyle won 2 3rd places in points and Continuous and become overall state champion in both point and continuous.
Leanne Carlyle won 1st in continuous and 2nd in points becoming state champion and overall state champion in her group.
Phoebe Coleman won her points and continuous and overall state champion.
Sam Carlyle won 3rd in points and won overall state champion.
Keira Carlyle won 2nd in points and 4th in Sumo.
Kye Carlyle won 3rd in Sumo.
Aiden Rowe won 1st in points and 2nd in sumo making him a state champion.
James Edwards won 1st in points and 1st in continuous making him state champion in both.

To summarise: the tournament was good s- ome very dubious decisions in refereeing were caught on video but there were no biased decisions made.
Out of 9 fighters we brought home 15 trophies, but only six First places so there is room for improvement. We have ten who qualified for the Australasian championships to be held in Sydney in December, where all this year's training will be put to the test.
