June 27th - Louise to carry the torch!

As many of you will already know, UFBDA's Louise Nelson has been selected as one of the torchbearers when the Olympic torch passes through Lincoln next month. (Congrats from all!)

Yesterday evening Louise appeared on BBC's Look North programme in a preview of the events planned for June 27th. Here's a transcript of her section of the programme. The Presenter was Sarah Croker...

Sarah: Louise Nelson is World Champion kickboxer. She was nominated by her grandparents to be a Torchbearer in the city.

Louise: I've always had a dream of being a part of the Olympics - it was one of my childhood dreams. But I chose kickboxing - it wasn't an Olympic sport. That was a  kind of a downside, but I had so much success through my sport. It's a great honour to be involved with the Olympics.
