ISKA World Cup 17th - 19th October 2014

October 17th 18th and 19th Was the ISKA World cup held at the whitlam Leisure centre in Liverpool NSW

Team dragon consisted of 4 members, along with Coach Pete Cook

On Saturday the 2 boys both 5-6 years old Orange belt Mihali and Blake did well but no placing

Sunday was all the fighting arts. First up in the point stop was Mihali Chimonides, his 1st time at a big tournament but never fazed him as he went on the attack his movement was good but lost his fight
2nd up Was Blake Constable. Having no losses in his QLD rounds, Blake to went out well but lost against a very good opponent.
Both boys did me the team and themselves proud.

Next up was Yellow Belt Robbie Fletcher. His movement and fighting was well above par for his grade, however Robbie was unfortunate to go against an opponent that was taller and extremely talented (not what I would have expected from a yellow belt). Robbie did good but in the end lost his fight.

Next up Was Yellow Belt Michael Chimonides. His 1st fight was slow but as the nerves settled Michael got into his stride reaching the final. Michael changed his style from counter to attack and it worked big time as he stormed to the end of the fight as an easy winner and the title of ISKA World Cup Champion for his grade - an awesome result.

Last up was veteran coach Pete Cook, who at 53 years old decided that this would be his last fighting tournament for a while. Pete won all his fights to reach the final against a well proven fighter. Pete tried all the tricks in the book, but no points awarded. At the end of the fight Pete had to accept 2nd place.

This tournament was a large well run event with all students already knowing that the competition was going to hard. They will have gained some good experience for future events.
